Ingredients
200g vegetarian gluten
see this link to make your own vegetarian gluten
http://forum.kitchencapers.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7042

Braising sauce
100ml Dark soya sauce
120ml Japanese soya sauce**
1 pc cinnamon stick
2 pcs star aniseeds
3 pcs cloves
1 tbsp white peppercorns(whole)
sugar to taste
500ml water

Method
1. Roll gluten into a long bun.
2. Heat up deep casserole with sauce till boiling
3. Add gluten to simmer over low heat for 45 mins.
4. Remove and grill in the oven 200C for 5 mins.
5. Pour sauce over it.

Notes
I use Japanese soya sauce(the one used for dipping Cha Soba) because its more flavourful.

After cooking, keep the braising sauce. As it can be reused for braising Tofu or other dishes.

Alannia

if you can't get the same brand..just look for Japanese Soya Sauce. The one that is used for Cha Soba. Wink
